Canterbury School - Technology Center
The new Technology Center will be a free-standing building to house the computer science program and four technology-rich classrooms. Canterbury’s goal for the building is to accommodate a critical mass of activity such that an exciting, forward-thinking, academic environment is created. BRB proposed siting the building to connect the upper and lower campuses. The design is conceived as a traditional hillside building, with three levels organized around a colonnade and grand stair that follows the contours of the site. Each level is partially open to an atrium space. The stair has an interior and an exterior portion, separated by glass. It will be bathed in southern sunlight in the winter and will serve as a commodious thoroughfare for students.
